The candles are handmade in Indonesia from 100% stearin, a natural material from a rapidly renewable source. It is a pure, GMO-free, practically food-grade raw material. They release no harmful toxins or soot when burning and burn down cleanly. The wax blend contains no paraffin, lead or zinc, and all wicks are made of pure cotton. The product is made following Fair Trade principles, and production uses as much handwork as possible so that as many people as possible can earn a living. 80% of the candle makers are women. No animal-derived materials are used in making the candles. The candles are an eco-friendly product.
